People can detect at least one trillion scents! Earlier research really underestimated our ability to detect odors. We’re better at detecting odors than we are at naming them, which may be why the earlier research suggested we were limited to about 10,000 aromas.

We smell something when the odor-carrying particles get in our noses, which is why we can smell something strong even once we’ve left the source of the odor (people who change diapers know the problem).

Our Process

If you haven’t identified the source of the aroma, we will help with that. Some odors are clues to other problems. Musty odors, for example, are often given off by molds or other microbial growth. We mitigate the mold damage, remove excess moisture, and clean and disinfect the home. Mold spores can grow in the HVAC system, which we clean and disinfect.

We also look for hidden damage. Animal urine can collect underneath the flooring or behind the floor boards.
