SERVPRO of St. Clair Shores Stays Prepared to Remediate Damage

“Be Prepared” is Important for Everyone, Not Only Scouts

Being prepared is a good idea for many things, which is why many of us try to always have pasta in the pantry. Being prepared to survive a disaster is especially important, as survival can depend upon it.

September is National Preparedness Month. It’s a reminder to be prepared for emergencies, with preparation including:

  • Emergency kits for each member of the family
  • Emergency kits for the pets
  • Escape routes in case of fire or storms
  • Agreed-upon places to meet

At SERVPRO® of St. Clair Shores, our business requires disaster preparation. We specialize in cleanup and restoration from all types of disasters.

We want the people in and around Roseville to sail through disasters unscathed because we know we can restore structures and belongings.

Call us when disaster strikes. Our emergency services are available every hour of every day. Our number is 586-741-5050.

According to FEMA:

Emergency kits for evacuation should include at least a three-day supply for each person. Emergency kits for staying at home should include at least a two-week supply for each person.

The contents of the kits will vary according to the individuals, and the types of emergencies will vary by area.

Contents of emergency kits include:

  • 1 gallon of water per person per day
  • Food that is easy to prepare, and that doesn’t spoil
  • Extra batteries for chargers, cellphones, flashlights, and radios
  • Medications
  • Lists of medications and medical conditions
  • Contact information
  • Cash (ATMs may be unusable)
  • Hygiene items
  • Clothing
  • Bedding
  • Paper and pencils/pens
  • Carriers, harnesses, leashes for the pets
  • Water and food for the pets
