Prevent Frozen Pipes in Roseville
11/20/2019 (Permalink)
Freezing weather doesn't skip Roseville. When temperatures don't budge over 20 degrees F, pipes may freeze and burst. Water damage from burst pipes is common; the Federal Emergency Management Association notes that burst pipes damage at least one room in a quarter of a million homes and offices every year.
To prevent such damage, SERVPRO® of St. Clair Shores is sharing these tips.
No More Burst Pipes in Roseville:
- Before the weather turns cold, insulate the walls that pipes run through
- Wrap pipes with several inches of pipe insulation
- Keep the area warm to keep the pipes warm
- Plug updrafts around walls and doors
- Whether people are sleeping or out of the home or office, keep the temperature at a minimum of 55 degrees F
- When the weather is cold, let faucets drip cold water, preventing the pipes from freezing
- Open bathroom and kitchen cabinets so warm air circulates over the pipes
- Keep doors to uninsulated areas closed
Worst case? Call SERVPRO of St. Clair Shores right away. Someone will get back to you, regardless of the time or the day.
SERVPRO of St. Clair Shores is independently owned and operated.
